I am at level 4 also. You are right...level 5 is a long way off. What drives me though, is trying to give the best answer possible to help others. My secondary goal is to continue to increase my "Best Answer Stats". Just keep plodding...the levels will come. As you reach each plateau you can look back and be proud.

I am glad for you, just think about those people that are so much higher up than we are and soo many more points, I thought that I would never make it to level 4

It's all exponential. Say, you reached a certain level with 2000 points. Well, guess what? To get to the next level, you have to get EXACTLY that amount! So you have to get to 4000 points. And once you're there, you level up with by getting another 4000 points! Isn't that torture?
