Is it 3?

first factorise denominators which gives

1/ x(y - x) - 1/ y(y-x)

we now have to make both denominators the same so :

y / xy(y-x) - x / xy(y-x)

note we have to do the same top and bottom to keep the sum the same. The two fractions can now be combined to give :

y-x / xy(y-x)

finally cancel out the 'y-x' to get our answer of :

1/xy

all u have to do is follow normal fraction rules - substitute numbers for the letters if it helps.
