Viruses often change your computers HOSTS file to redirect you to other web sites by modifying it.

You could try this:

Look in your HOSTS file located at:
WinXP C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Win2K = C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Win 98/ME = C:\WINDOWS
1. Back up the HOSTS file .
2. Open HOSTS with Notepad.
3. A standard HOSTS file should look like this:

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

4. Remove any entries below the line that reads:
127.0.0.1 localhost

5. Close Notepad and answer Yes if asked.

Scan using Spybot and Lavasoft adaware regularly to remove the spy and trojans affecting your computer.

There are also online spy scan websites where you can sacn your hard disk for any trojan and spyware.

Alternatively you can use browsers such as firefox and opera which do not get too much affected by spyware.

Internet explorer is a widely used accross the world and few people with bad intentions hijack the browser with their spyware.

Try this, go online and delete the history, run the norton virus scan, and after that is done go to the restore function and save a restore point.

Norton cleans virsuses. This sounds like a spyware.
Check for spyware. Run both Ad-aware Peronal Edition ( http://www.lavasoftusa.com ) and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Then go to microsoft.com and download Defender to protect against future infections.
