I think you're wanting to know what others feel regarding the connection between mind and heart in the area of love....

I think you can conciously choose who you love. I'm talking about healthy reciprocal adult romantic love...

I've known men who are visually attractive, but because of their personality (evidence of their mind) they totally turned me off. I've also known men who weren't the hottest guy around, but again, with personality being the deciding factor- I was attracted to them.

To me, the first thing I usually notice about a man is his looks- that's always the easiest to be aware of.

In my own experience though, that is NEVER the end of the evaluation.

I look at how they are groomed- showered? shaved? condition of their clothing? This shows if they care about themselves... or if they care too much. I knew a young man who was always worried about how he looked... and it was a turn off- he was more worried about his appearance than who he was on the inside.

I also look at how they talk- I can see their education, upbringing, values etc... simply in how they talk, the words they use, topics they discuss.

I look at how they treat others- especially those that could be viewed as less than him- children, elderly, disabled, women. If he's rude or mocking- Buh-bye!!!!! But, if he is attentive to children, respectful of the elderly and women, kind to the disabled- Oh, Yeah!

I think there's a lot of factors that go into the development of love. These are just a few.
