The WORST thing you can do is believe the things that others say about you. However, people can be very unforgiving. Especially if you live in a confined space.
I would suggest you go away to work for a time. A nice fresh start will make you feel like a million dollars. The stress of being judged is probably getting on your nerves. I may also be detecting a smidgen of guilt.
Not being reminded every day of your past will be good for you. Good luck

Reputation is hard to shake off at times, but you know you own these people no favours and they have no right to look down on you, you have changed you life around and are trying to move on, do you like the area where you live, do you think you would be much better off starting over somewhere else, if so then move from the area and get the support you need from the DSS, they should be able to put you in touch with people who can give you a fresh start and the help you need to make a better life.

It is good that you've turned your life around and seen the error of your ways. Some people have long memories though and especially so in a small community. You don't need to change your name unless it makes YOU feel better by reinventing yourself, but probably a fresh start somewhere else where anyone would be unlikely to know you or have heard of you would be a good idea. Perhaps you could visit a few places to see if you'd like to live there, and look at the job market, if you think it looks promising, then look around for accomadation. It can be exciting starting a new life, so if you do it, do it properly. Good luck!

I think it's a credit to you for changing your ways. I think if you genuinely have changed your ways, given time, and proving it to the locals in your area you will be re-accepted. Do you want to stay there, or do you want to move away? Will moving away help you remain a reformed character, or are you more likely to slip back to your old ways? Can you get a local job, so people get used to seeing you, and can see the New You? Whatever you decide, I will you all the best.

You don't have to leave your area. If you have done something wrong and you're truly sorry about it, just stay where you are. Let that issue "die a natural death". Face the truth and the truth will set you free. Also greet the people around you. Even they ignored or disregard you, do be ashamed of yourself. Show them that you change for good. Anyway, you are but human. Everything will be OK in God's TIME. Always be of good cheers. GOD BLESS US ALL.

Couple of hundred miles should do it. France /Belgium/Wales/Tyne and Wear or Scilly Isles.
Try religion, Jehovas Witnesses are always pretty desperate for members or if you fancy playing Euphonium there is always the Salvation Army.
Again if you are a "Nutter" then Islam may suit you as they dont condem a bit of violence now and again.

Changing your name won't help. It's going to take you a long time for you to build back up the trust people have lost in you. You have no one to blame for that but yourself. Sometimes moving to a new area might help. Moving away from the people who helped you get into the mess you are in can be a good idea.

My days of going beyond the beyonds is long gone, beyond retrieval even. However, 'twas not that long ago I would go beyond even the beyonds to the furthest gone. It is a wonder I returned to the anon.
