our puja ghar is in n-e of our house but that is actually a dressing room turned to puja and is very small ( doesn'
t accomodate more than two) so we want to shift puja ghar, only other place could be lobby, which is in brahamsthana.

I think Puja means to adore God and I think any place we can do
Puja and anywhere I'm not sure.

Brahmasthana means the center of the home which as per Vastu should always be clean and vacant, since it has to be vacant it should not have Puja ghar. Puja Ghar as per Vastu should be in the North East of the home.
A few points to be noted
1) It should not be in the bedroom
2) it should not be above electrical appliances or gas stoves
3) it should not touch the same wall as the toilet
4) it should not be opposite bathroom or toilet.
5) it should be clean and neat avoid dirt or clutter and keep it fragrant.
6) if your north east spot is occupied by bedroom (inauspicious) or kitchen (not good) then you can keep the puja room in the hall but the north east of the hall , if not north east you can place it in the East but never on South west or south corner.

puja ghar in any room is okay, till it is facing south ( you must face north when you sit for puja )
i do not see any reason why you need to shift -since place for 2 is just convienient for puja

hay, god is every where so keep pujaroom wherever you find clean, peacefull & calm place in your house and if you think direction and places are going to effect god then worship directions and places as they are more strong than god!
