You can draw a clock, an hour glass with the sand running thru it, or a sun and then a moon. My son once had to show passing of time and drew a well-tended grave with fresh flowers, then the same grave covered in weeds.

I don't know the name in english but try to understand me;
two hollow glass triangles on top of each other touching tips, sand runs from one part into another, slowly. They use it in sauna's today and used to use it on boats and in far history too
