the pin at the end of the cable into motor,how does it stay in?mine pops out

You need a new cable. The end at the clutch with the round cable end is worn. If in doubt replace the small arm that the cable attachs to also.

It should not pop out if cable is adjusted correctly, and not worn horribly.

There is a plate bolted to the case. It prevents the clutch lifter from pulling out of the crankcase.
