This a very naive way of thinking.Everybody is a creature of his time and, even if we may disbelieve the theory of 'kama' he/she cannot dismount from the stage unless his role is over. The entire force of history has such a strong pull that is there were to be any violent intervention in the flow the water will move sideways leaving enough space for the main action. I have read a story dealing the the Time Machine. Somebody went back in time to 1861 to the theatre wherd Lioncoln was assasinated. He carried a revolver with him and already knowing the moment the assasin would walk in and empty his pistol over the president he would shoot him down. But as he raised his hand somebody, perhaps an accomplice of the assasin targetted the time traveller and the drama of 1861 followed.Historical records show that there was one more unidentied body on the site attired in strange clothes amd with a strange unfired weapon in his hand. There was no clue who shot him. Lincoln's regular bodyguard said he was on leave on that day and had not accompanied the President. Since no other person could have access to the place is wassuspected that the bodyguard, for reasons best known to himself, was denying the truth. Thus heroes or for that matter even villains are the products of circumstances and after performing their part they retire in the wings.
