I've always had a soft spot for Richard Hammond! I hope he's ok too, would be a shame if he wasn't cos he's a really good presenter and also has a wife and two young daughters.

get well Richard, we'll miss you till you do!

Yes I did, its terrible isn't it - he's lucky to be alive at that speed! I hope he's OK, especially for his families sake! But when he does recover, Jeremy Clarkson is going to take the p*ss out of him for ages - I can just see it! In a way though, I'm not surprised something like this happened because they were doing increasingly daring test drives and all kinds of mad stuff. Last time I watched top gear I saw Richard Hammond running into a burning caravan!!

Apparently he may have problems with his lower back - not good. My thoughts go out to him and his family and I wish him the speediest of recoveries. Top Gear is a brilliant programme and it has a lot to do with the banter between Hammond, Clarkson and May.

Fingers crossed he will have broken the landspeed record too, so its not all in vain. In which case he will go into the history books as a great adventurer....something he and his family can be proud of.

Terrible. I'm not into cars but I like Top Gear because its entertaining and funny. The Top Gear 'trio' are a really good team and it wouldn't be the same without Hammond. He seems like a nice bloke..but going at 315 mph! Man, that is really dangerous - he's 'lucky' (if that's the word) to have even survived. It's a dramatic TV spectacle but you have to wonder if they pushed the limits way too far this time round..

Yeh I kinda like the guy. Clarkson will be taking the Pee now, Especially as Richard has just had his teeth whitened (Top Gear in-joke)

He's been confirmed as "stable" but in a critical condition in hospital. Lets hope he's alright! I don't even like cars but Top Gear makes it all worth watching.
