I am a poor college student, but I have been working very hard to keep my finances in check. As such, I have a $500 limit credit card which I use to buy books each semester and then pay off over the course of the year. This worked fine untill the bookstore began transfering funds in and out of my account. Most recently, the book store deposited $45.99 into my account, and then the following day, it withdrew $45.99 two times, causing me to go over my credit limit and charging me a $35.00 fee, and as it just happened to be the last day of the billing cycle, the next day another $35.00 was placed on my account, bringing the total personal expense to $126.98!!!!
WHAT DO I DO!?!?!?! I called the card company, but they were no help. Is it the bookstores fault? How much should they be paying back to me!? IS IT EVEN LEGAL FOR THEM TO DO THAT!?!?!?!?

Upon closer reveiw, it seems that both the bookstore and the University I attend are doing this, and not only to my credit account. Both of my debit accounts have had the same amounts deposited and then withdrawn in the same manner by both the bookstore and the university. Whatever it is, it's not a human error.

(I already have online banking, and I watch my finances VERY CLOSELY!)

I don't know how the bookstore can transfer fund in and out to your account unless you gave the authority to do so.

To manage your account better, ask your bank to refer to you before passing any transaction on your card.
Or you can apply for on line banking and you can access your account anytime from your computer.

Send a letter to your bookstore copying your bank highlighting all the wrong transaction and asking them to reverse the same.

Also, ask them to reply back in writing when the reversal is done

Well, you have to consider the human error factor. YOur bookstore may have just made a mistake. You should be able to take your statement to the manager there and have them contact your credit card company to straighten this out. Good luck, and don't give up-

Sounds fishy. The book store shouldn't be able to charge your card without your knowledge, or at least a very good explanation. I'd talk to the credit card company again if i where you, maybe even put a hold on the card.

i would to the book store and ask for an immediate explanation and explain to them that what they did has caused you unneccessary expense plus much grief!
