A LOT of random old people tell me I'm very pretty. I don't take their comments to heart as much as young people's because I think they think and tell all youngish girls they are pretty.
What do you think? Are old people more lenient in judgments? Do they only say it when they mean it?

ok I'm 44 is that old? And I am very outspoken, (just ask my mom or sisters, who have been embarrassed by me more than once in shops, restaurants and on planes). But I don't go around telling random strangers that they are pretty. I might say it out loud to one of them, Loud enough for the girl to hear.
I think you must be very pretty for strangers to be coming up to you and telling you so.
If it was your family saying it then i think pretty much they do tell all they are pretty. and they mean it. and they are lenient in that they wouldn't want to hurt a girl's feelings. Here is why.
When you get older, you can see more beauty other than just skin deep. You can see character and determination as beauty.
Also, when you are older and your skin is wrinkling and sagging and getting age spots, young clear skin is beautiful.
Or she might not be referring to the face as a whole but a particular piece such a as beautiful nose, or eyes or lips or even ears or chin.

Yes they do, but then again, every mom tells their daughter or daughters that they are very pretty (which obviously, some of them are lying)
Society just wants all things to be all good so much we lie to ourselves sometimes to avoid reality ( This is how that whole God/Jesus myth got started by the way)

Im 12 and i have noticed alot of ppl including my grandma(s) tell me that.
Mostly old, but still some young.
I know this wasnt part of your question, but you should take it to heart. Even the old ladies because they probably mean it 99 percent of the time.

If I was you....I would take old ladies comments a LOT more seriously as they have no hidden agenda. What a beautiful thing......such a comment should be taken into your heart no matter who says it. "What part of you doesn't believe it?" - is what you should be asking yourself.

it matters not that they tell everyone,
what matters is the fact that it is true!! in every case!
if you understand it now, you will when you are older, and maybe when you are an old lady yourself you will tell all the young girls that they are pretty!
