I remember I was in college, I had to go home because I contracted chicken pox. While walking in a sidewalk, an earthquake hit Manila. I can remember seeing parked cars moving slightly and buildings swaying! When I arrived home, thats when I knew Mount Pinatubo errupted. It seemed like so many bad things happened that day.

I had to ride on a motorcycle after about five years gap (as I was abroad where there was no opportunity for me to ride a motorbike) - thus I was a bit out of practice. I had a companion sitting behind me. I stopped on a red signal and when it turned Green, I was unable to move, as the road was in an upward slope. I couldn't balance the clutch and race properly. There were just few seconds left in turning the signal Red again and I was under tremendous pressure because of traffic waiting behind me making full noise of their horns. All of a sudden, I found myself riding at full speed and out of embarrassment gave full race and was at my home with a bang.
Reaching home, I got off and told my companion to get the motorbike inside the home. But, ainh, where was he, nobody was around, where was the man sitting with me. I went out of my senses thinking I might have thrown him when I raced the bike at that Signal point and don't know what might have happened to him. Afterall he was my wife's brother. I decided to return and try to find him, but then changed my mind and decided to take somebody with me. I told my wife about what happened and asked to awake my (grown-up) son to accompany me. She started crying for her brother's safety. My daughter when learnt of the news, quickly rang up at my brother-in-law's mobile and knowing of his welfare, came out with laughters.
What had happened was that when few seconds were left in turning the Green Signal into red, my brother-in-law, got down the bike, said to me something, which I couldn't listen because of my helmet and noise of horns, he pushed the motorbike and excited at my success and desire to get out of sight quickly I gave full race and went away within seconds from the traffic behind me without knowing that my companion was not there. He came walking behind and giving laughters. 'Thanks giving' laughters were later added from me and my family to his.
