Mail me if you want to know. I've been swimming competively for over 5 years, and I teach lessons. It's a lot more than just getting in the water and kicking and moving your arms. You have to work on body alignment. You have to do drills daily. Stretches.

Freestyle - your face is IN the water. (most people don't do it that way, and it is wrong.) You flutter kick, no knees, just ankles and hips. Your arms will go through the water hand first, elbows bent.

Breaststoke - No kicking like a frog. that's old news. You want your ankles to do all the work. Your knees should never be farther apart than your shoulders. Your feet push the water down, then close. Your arms will move you in a position where your face is out of the water every time you stroke. They will go no lower than your breasts, and curve in at your breasts so that you are making a \/ position with your hands, and push out and hold for a glide.

It's hard to explain like this...

I can help with free but not breast. But in free you have to put your hand in even with your shoulder, and rotate over on your side then do the same with the other hand.

I suggest you look for a swimming class in your area or hire a coach to help you out

First you have to learn how to relax a body in water. Then you can learn what you want to easily. If you learn to relax your body, braething will be no problem.
