Firstly, LUCKY YOU! The hedgehogs are protecting your plants by eating up the snails and slugs and other bad guys that munch on plants. Secondly, I might be wrong, but I'm pretty certain that hedgehogs are now a protected species so please don't get any silly ideas about poisoning them. If you really don't want them in your garden, there are plenty of wildlife deterrents available - including sonars and scented granules that foxes, cats and so on don't like. A search on the web will help you survey what's about. But quite frankly if you're that intent on getting rid of them, I'd first consider the comments from those of us who are jealous of your fortune and re-examine your motives.

Wow - you dont know how lucky you are to have them ! Are they doing any harm? I'd love to have them in my garden. They are great for controlling slugs and snails. Please dont use slug pellets. If you really dont want them coming in, perhaps you could collect up some slugs and smails and place them on the other side of the fence !

I've heard that a big Tom Cat will chase them away. I wouldn't swear a dog would be much help, since they can whip most dogs, and they aren't afraid of dogs anyway. You could always put out some poison! Good Luck!!

Why do you want to keep them out? They don't do any harm. I'd be putting food out for them.

Why would you want to do that when they are just after the slugs and snails?
