I'm guessing that it doesn't apply to Islam as the 10 commandments were created for Moses & the Jewish people, after the 'split' between Issac & Ishmael.
Shame really, such simple yet important rules should apply to everyone.

All three faiths Christian, Islamic and Jewish have there roots in Abraham. I think though it is a bit naive to think that all should read the bible as each has it's own version of the bible. I am an atheist and no wonder. All this fighting in the name of religion, when will it ever stop. It has always been at the forefront of wars. Many innocent men women and mostly children are the victims of this crime against humanity. The sooner they all get down and argue the facts the better, Ishmael was the eldest son and should have got his inheritance but didn't. I wonder what would have happened if he had, would it have made any difference ? It is still a question of my Gods better than your God.

Why does Bush who is christian and Blair who is a Chrisitan ignore "thou shalt not kill and thou shalt not have strange gods before me?"
The IRA was a Christian group. Did they followed this commandment?
Is it one rule for christians and another for others?
The majority of muslims just like christians and jews are good peaceful people.
Another thing, Muslims don't see Mohammad to god status. They believe that he was a human like us and a mortal just like us. He was a human being and nothing more than that. Muslims dont idle worship either. That have no statues and images of god and Mohammad. So they are abiding by this commandment.
On the other hand, christians have a statue of Jesus in the church, and they called him god. This means that they have gone against this commandment.
Christians are the ones who see Jesus as God (The son of god). Get your facts straight.
Remember that Abraham, Jesus, Moses and Mohammad were Arabs. They were born and breed on arab land. If you hate arabs
and muslims, then you hate jesus as thats where his roots are from.
Muslims neither ask or prey to Mohammad for help.

why do we ignore the same commandment we invaded Iraq and from what i heard last upwards of 150 thousand Iraqi`s have been killed and most of them old people women and children and for what, every reason given has been proved false politicians are even admitting that they had no WMD and had nothing what so ever to do with al quadar(sorry can`t spell that)what about Afghanistan
Islam doesn't allow them to call Mohamed God they worship him as a prophet on the other hand Christians do say that Jesus is God when the scriptures only say he is the Word it was the Catholic church in the 16 th century that insisted that was put in the Bible Erasmus who translated the bible said that the manuscripts only called Jesus the Word and refused to put it in but then a new manuscript turned up that held up the churches ideas so that how it got in the bible but then it was proved a forgery every one is no better than any one else

Those commandments you mentioned can be found in the Bible. However, Islam does not recognize the Bible as valid basis of their faith. they use the Quran. (they don't like the bible for many reasons. one reason is that the bible says Isaac is the rightful heir of Abraham--not Ishmael, whose descendants are the Arabs).
I think that's the main reason they ignore those commandments.
On the other hand, Christians and (other religions that recognize the Bible) do not have an excuse for not obeying those commandments.

To take the second part first, they wouldn't see Allah as "another god", but the true face of the one God. They view Mohammed with reverence comparable to what a Christian would view Christ. And what about the Roman Catholic Church, which has installed the mortal Mary as co-redeemer?
As for the second part... ask the Israelis, Christians and anyone else the same question. People often fall short of the ideals of their faith: and sometimes do so in the NAME of that faith. People are bad and stupid.

The United States is a predominantly Protestant country... we kill thousands in the name of spreading freedom and democracy. Jesus Christs is not God himself, but a human vessel of God. Who rises from the dead after being crucified... "Jesus Christ OUR LORD." Sounds like another Abrahamic faith is turning the other cheek on God's commandments.
Weird...

Moslems are very careful not to treat Mohammed like a god.
And they are people just like us, i.e. they don't always do what their religion teaches, or interpret that religion in a way that makes a mockery of it.
On the Christian side where are the true followers of Jesus who commanded them to "love their enemies...".

False premise. The Commandment is not against killing, but against murder, and then only against murdering a "brother". Moses didn't have any qualms about killing 3500 idolaters when he came down the mt. with the Commandments.
Muhammed, Moses, ben Gurion, Arafat...
