Start by walking..doesn't matter if it is a Power Walk or not, and bring water with you to replenish. Even while you are sitting down you can do many exercises concentrating on the buttocks and arms, toning your body is necessary when losing weight also, eat well, and even if you have a knack to eating sweets, make sure you burn off more than you take in. Smile....being active is a good thing, but you have to have a positive attitude or there just seems to be no point. Good luck to you.

The best dietary weight loss programs have been and will continue to be published by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Most recently they have researched and endorsed the idea of counting carbohydrates (CHO's). It gets quite technical when you think about one can of regular soda is equivalent to three pieces of white bread which is the same as three medium apples...
Eating smaller meals throughout the day (six light meals) and balancing the CHO's through the day will leave you sated (feeling full) and allow you to lose weight. I am five ft.tall and have maintained a weight of 102 pounds throughout my adult life. Fluctuations are normal.
Walk. Jogging will cause a heart attack down the line...just move. Do some type of exercise. Mowing the lawn counts. Washing windows counts. You are exerting energy and utilizing the CHO's you probably just ate.
Fast weight loss is life threatening and leads to weight gain that has you weighing more when you stop the pills or overexercising...or whatever else you may be doing.
Without getting technical, a person's body likes to stay at a certain weight. In order to lose weight, a combination of carb counting and exercise will lead to weight loss. After losing between 10-15 pounds, stay at that weight for a couple of weeks. That way your body and your brain can become accutomed to the "new" certain weight.
Nutshell:
Eat light and balanced meals six times per day.
Keep the carbs about the same during each mini meal.
Drink Milk. It does a body good. helps with zits
slowly increase exercise and decrease some carbs.
For every 10-15 lbs. of weight loss...remain at new lower weight for about two weeks before continuing.
Keep an eye on fat intake.
DON'T worry about calories. Worry about Total carbohydrates.

It depends on you but the best way is to have a goal. While good health is the best reason, you may need to find your own incentive. Mine was love, & even though that love is gone, the weight loss made me feel better about myself.
For the loss, you don't necessarily need to eat less but just eat the right things. Find natural foods you enjoy such as fruit. Eat as much fruit & veggies, chicken & fish as you wish, stay away from red meat, and add some type of arobic exercise. If you can't run, bike, or swim, you can build up to that by walking. (or find an active sport you enjoyed when you were younger) Best of Luck!

I've lost about 35 lb this year by cutting out or cutting back on all sweet snacks like cookies, cake, and ice cream. I also try to eat a fairly large salad before supper so I don't take too much of anything else. The only real physical exercise I get is 2 hours of roller skating a week(my local rink had a dollar night so it isn't too expensive).
