Once th motor lost the forward gear and had to up stream 1 mile in reverse with a 12 mph current and waves lapping about 1 inch from the stern.
Another time ran out of gas at night and had to sit in the boat all night in the rain...when the sun came up we were only 100 yards from shore.

For something like 20 hours when our ferry couldn't put into port because of the weather in the Channel so we had to wait off shore until it abated.

Yeah in Sutherland... my had this half cabin cruiser and the motor went spaz and killed itself!

We had no oars so this was a bit of a problem... so we just kept fishing and drinking until someone came past that could give us a tow!... was still a good day!

No never stranded on a boat but I fell off one when I was a kid. I had spotted a childhood hero and was showing off to him and fell overboard. My uncle being a big hero jumped in to save me, when he got to me I just stood up lol
