upload and download = copying (both the same)

There's a difference between free downloads and paid downloads.

Free downloads are considdered "illegal", since the original artist/record company/production company don't se a dime.

Uploading for the purpose of mass downloading is also considdered illegal, since it's no longer for personal use.

Same goes for (paid) download and then mass copying/burning.

Both are illegal.

I believe people have only been sued for uploading so far. Probably because they don't know what you download from others, and if they offered files for download it could be argued as entrapment... Or it could be seen that if the rightful owner of a file offers it for free download on a file sharing network... Then free it is...

So... be more worried about uploading.
