keen observation and self-analysis/reflection
when someone is drunk, sometimes they'll show their true colors.i know people who are quiet and reserved but when they're drunk, they're more bold and hence act and say things that they wouldn't normally.i find that i unlock repressed emotions unintentionally when i observe those emotions expressed by others and in a way,i can relate and therefore, reach some sort of epiphany about myself.

Provide a safe place with somone to listen and be attentive.
