I will be glad to help you cheat on your schoolwork. :)
1. The main character, play by Joquien Phoenix helped to defend his village from the attacking mystical creatures and would later on volunteer to bring back supplies to the town.
2. the main character managed this by making proposals to the council as to his thoughts on what needed to be done and how he felt he could help.
3. His actions were done out of a sincere need to help defend his community and in particular, the girl he loved.
4. The forces adding to conflict were the result of intertwining triangles of interest. The elder council were secretly instituting fake creatures to scare their village into submission while at the same time there was a love triangle between the main character, his love interest, and her friend.
5. I'd say that the deeper love between the characters in the movie allowed them to finally break the bounderies of tradition in order to use bravery in helping to the complete the task the needed to take. An example would be the Father telling his daughter about the Creature conspiracy and telling her how to go get medicine for the main character, an action that essentially forbidden by the rest of his peers on the council.
