We are due to have what is called an Indian Summer - which is a late "spurt" of hot weather meaning it will be unseasonably warm. It is something that happens every now and then (else, why would it have a special name?!) and you should try to enjoy it - not get worried or confused by it!

No because it's not near winter. It's only the middle of september so it is still classed as the back end of the summer. We haven't even had the Autumn yet so winter is a few months away. It is a bit warm for this time of year, which may have something to do with global warming, it may not.
I wouldn't worry about it though.

Not confused just upset because global warming is already starting to take effect and it's serious stuff. The trouble is a lot of people are ignorant about how to stop global warming and what they can do to help prevent it then they wonder why we're having strange weather! I'm afraid it's only going to get worse unless people starting to their bit to reduce pollution. Turn off unused lights, turn down heating by 1 degree at least, walk more etc etc. We all know what to do but many can't be bothered and look at the consequences? One last example is more and more people are buying gas guzzling trucks and people carriers. Some are huge not to mention an eyesore! We should be going the other way and buying more economical cars or car sharing etc. Sorry I'm not moaning at you, just trying to get a message across and I'm really upset about what's happening to our environment.

NO. As a pensioner when they told me about global warming, my immediate response was, okay, let's have more of it. I am 65 and have known some unusual weather during my life so far. I remember in c1968 taking a 'summer' holiday in March. The daytime temp got up to about the 21c mark which for March is exceptional. The only real difference between March or September and real summer, is of course the length of the day. The best advice I can give, is to take full advantage of the lovely weather and get out there and dooo something.
Here's a simple golbal warming joke - "Baked Alaska..." that's it.

27 degrees in london! We often have what is called an Indian Summer in the UK, when it is hot and sunny in september (NB. which is Autumn not Winter), the weather in the UK is so unpredicable that it's not confusing just the way it is here!

heh... It's always hot in cali =D
But if you're worried about global warming, I say you protest! Boycott gas-guzzling transportation! Demand action from the oil companies! Send out petitions, raise awareness and spread the righteousness of good karma!
That and get one of those mini whizz fans, battery powered. Great for bugging your lil brother with, and cooling down in the heat! =D
