I went really say there is a top ten. Budapest is more of a cool place to wander and explore. I guess you should definitely go up to the Castle hill or whatever it is called in Buda and see the St. Mattias Church which is also the National Musuem. There are lots of neat streets to explore up there. Then there is the fishermans bastion which has a great view of the city and the Danube. There are lots of little markets in Budapest. Mostly in the subway system. The zoo is actually pretty good. One thing I didn't do that I think we will do next time is go to the Baths. They are very old mineral baths. For time time I didn't see much. I did go to a Kareoke bar and watch people with thick Hungarian accents try to sing English songs. That was pretty entertaining.

You can also go to Café Central near Ferencziek tere or to Café New York near Blaha Lujza tér - these are freshly and authentically re-built places of nice atmosphere of the 1920s. Baths: Gellért has a male and a female section as well as a swimming pool for both sexes, and it's a beautiful ornamented building. Rudas is a very old one, from the Turk times (16th century). It used to be for men only, but now it is open for women on tuesdays - but only for women that day. But it has a wonderful Middle Ages atmosphere. Lukács and Széchényi are also beautiful baths, all of them with warm water also used for medical purposes. You can have a nice walk in Margaret Island, there's a Thermal Hotel there with a thermal bath, and there is a little zoo there, too. It is actually a large park-island.
And the National Theatre is an interesting building both from the outside and the inside. Near the theatre there is a park with a miniature forest, a Labyrinth and a Mezopotamian-style spiral tower, the whole building is disguised a Grecian Ship, and the front park is a memorial park for Hungarian actors and actresses with life-size sculptures, torches in the water etc.
And take an evening tour on one of the ships (Danube Legend for instance).
And Budapest has stalactite caves, too, Pálvölgyi Barlang and SzemlÅhegyi Barlang, it can be very exciting tour to make (e.g. visitors have to climb ladders).
From Budapest you can go to Szentendre, it's a lovely little town with beautiful museums (Kovács Margit Múzeum, Marzipan Muzeum etc) nice sweet-shops and restaurants.
See Kossuth tér with the Parliament building and Szabadság tér with the Television Building you can hear about so much lately in the news.
Enjoy your stay and you can contact me if you need more info or after you come back to tell me how you like my city.
