First, make a list of what you want in a long-term relationship - who will work? children? live where? religion? close families? Now, put these things in order of priority. For example, is it more important to you that she shares your religion, or that you both want children?
Next, make a list of what you want in a woman - physical attributes? nationality? personality? educated? religion? will she work or stay home? Put these in order of priority too. For example, is it more important that she is the same nationality or religion as you, or that she is physically beautiful, or that you agree whether she will work or not?
Now, when you meet women, you can think about these things to see how the women fit with your priorities and values. You can also discuss with them what you have decided that you want and how they feel about these things. For example, are either you or they willing to change religions or plans for children in order to make a marriage work?
....or you can do like many people and go with your hormones and impulses, and take your chances to see if the relationship lasts for 20 years or 6 months. :) Planning and lists may seem anal, but it makes you sort out and think about what matters to you, and find someone that fits with your values, instead of someone you think is beautiful and good in bed, because those things pass. Values usually don't change except to improve.

it's really not that simple. You need to find someone with real beauty on the inside, you must be compatible, there must be love, respect, trust. Those are the main things.
It takes a long time to get to know someone!! So take your time, and you wll never regret marrying that special woman. I imagine you are from India, that's another thing she has to be compatible to your belief system, it's an important factor in your culture.
