some are put in the wrong category, and don't you think it's unfair?

My guess is that phrase means different things to different people... In the context of when the phrase was coined originally, it essentially meant some woman are stable and comfortable and will make "a good wife and mother" and some are fun and sexy and exotic and are "good to have fun with" but these woman would be difficult to live with.
Unfair, yes. Sexist, yep. A dated outlook, I'd say. You might also say that the whole premise is twisted since some men don't want to marry a woman who makes them feel "stable and comfortable."
The dumb thing about categories is that most of us can be one thing one day and something quite different another...

It's a remnant of the old double standard, good-girl vs. bad girl. Happily modern women in western societies are usually no longer stigmatized after losing their virginity or after having a few affairs. Better still, individuals can often move from the s l u t category by changing friends, habits and the way they dress. So although it's an unfair way to categorize girls, some men do this, but women have some choice and can switch from "bad girl" to "good girl".

A mistress material has a one point agenda, to entice and keep stuck. Where as a wife not only fulfills that criteria, she also sees to the good and bad of the family and betterment thereof.

It's possible that a man makes a snappy judgement about whether you're a nice girl to date but nobody he'd make a life with or if you're the one for him but not-so-hot in the sack. However, no man puts you in the wrong catagory we all have standards of what we think is hot and what we're willing to gamble a marriage on. Usually we look for a compromise of the two.

We all prove our "critics" right or wrong by the lives we live.
Good wives are so rare....... would you know one if you saw one ??
The same can be said of good husbands.
Some of us make better "masters and mistresses"......while some of us fail at even THAT designation.
Do what you do best....... and do it WELL.
This is a good motto to live by.
