It would not break the glass, but might make a small chip.

For small objects as they drop they soon reach what is called terminal velocity, while large ones take longer and reach a higher velocity. Terminal velocity is when the acceleration from gravity equals the resistance of air friction. Because small objects have bigger surface ares compared to their mass, they have lower terminal velocities.

It would make no difference if you dropped the small key from the 200 floor.

A person has a terminal velocity of 100 to 200 mph depending on whether they fall with a horizontal posture or in a steep dive. Small animals can survive falls from great heights.

without the weight of the actual key it's hard to tell.

Though, it is possible for it to cause a "Crack", that legally, would require replacing the window.

Also, it also depends on the wind. If it lands on the point, it will cause more damage than if it had landed on it's side, parralell with window.

This is because the energy would of been distributed equally over the entire surface area of contact that the key had with the window.

Obviously, less than if it had somehow managed to land on the point, increasing it's energy transfer to that area by many folds.

force = mass times acceleration (f=ma). Acceleration of gravity on earth is 9.8 meters per second per second. The mass of a key would be no more than a few grams. Distance of about 50 meters. Do the math. It probably won't do much damage at all.

It would hit it at a faster rate of speed, possibly scratch it. If you think it would break it, it wouldn't...the weight would remain the same.

the glass would shatter if you're holding the key(no matter how small)
