YES! I did some research on breastfeeding for a speech class about a year ago. This among other things has been researched which has shown that breastfeeding greatly reduces the risks of breast cancer. Let me know if you have any more questions. I an give you some references.

Breastfeeding is supposed to lower the risk somewhat, yes. You don't have to breastfeed very long---3-4 months---to get the benefit.
Other things that help:
- starting your period later (ages 13-16, as opposed to 9-11)
- having at least one pregnancy
But, the BEST risk reduction is proper diet and exercise, and the luck of having good genes.

No, not like that its good for the child thats all. They won't get any health problems if they take atleast up to 1year.

Yes they say this, however some of us have never been pg so does that mean I am screwed? I don't think so.. I think it is hogwash!
