I went to a concert tonight to see a band that had some people from my high school in it. A couple that went to my high school was also there and I noticed the girl was pregnant.... and she was drinking a beer!!! Then I saw her take a shot of Jager!! Her boyfriend was right there cheering her on. It made me sick. Their child could have so much potential and she is sacrificing it to have some drinks with her friends. Is she purposely trying to have a miscarriage or something!?! She looked probably 5-6 months along too. Now Im not totally against abortion as long as it is done within a reasonable amount of time (like before the fetus has a heartbeat) and its done by a responsible physician. But seriously, if she is planning on having the baby then at least give it the opportunity to live up to its natural potential. If she is showing then I think it should be considered child abuse. What do you think? I am 22 and my fiance will NOT drink when she is pregant thats for sure!!!

One more thought... I think she (and others like her) are the most selfish people alive. They are a disgrace to humanity.

To Tricia- that is a good idea but when we are ready we will both not drink during the pregnancy so I can be there to support her and so we can do things together that dont involve alcohol. This wont be a few years though that is certain lol!!

I agree 100%. If you are going to accept the responsability of being pregnant, I think it should be the LAW that you have to take care of that baby first and foremost, regardless of whether or not you intend to keep it.Obviously there are too many sickos out there drinking and smoking while pregnant even though they know better- if you don't want to have a baby, abort it so it doesn't have to go through life with a handicap. Sheesh!!! Stories like this just prove to me that people with a low moral IQ should be sterilized before puberty.

that is a very immature thing to do in the pregnant woman's part. Studies have shown that SMALL amounts of wine have been OK during pregnancy. But there is still a great risk of fatal alcohol syndrome in the baby. Drinking even small amounts of alcohol have been shown to cause this. She is obviously not thinking about the outcome her child is going to have. If this child makes it through her pregnancy....she may have a hard time raising it. large consequences for such a small sacrifice a mother could make for such a short amount of time during pregnancy.

Hey Well done for cutting back - it would be totally awesome if you could quit altogether. Your baby will certainly thank you when it's older. And it's only 9 months. Not a long time if you think about it I know my mum used to drink sparingly (like a glass of wine once a week kind of nothing-drink) and me and my siblings are totally fine, and smart lol If you mean getting totally trashed 2 nights a week.. eeehh that is VERY bad for the baby lol. Not fetal-alcoholism-syndrome bad, but not-all-that-smart bad, perhaps You should totally abstain for a while Please? =]

Whoa that girl is completely stupid. Just utterally stupid. She's practically killing her baby. If you drink anything or consume anything your baby that you're carrying gets that. So, that practically means the baby is drinking alcohol along with her. And it can shut down it's liver. You have to think it's liver is like [---------] that big. or so. Not exactly accurate. But it's pretty stupid that's she's going to cause her kid long term difficutlies for one night of fun. She shouldn't deserve to be a mom. And yes she can have a miscarriage from that, or still born.

yeah, maybe they dont have the money for abortion and can't think of kicking her in the stomach so theres another option alcohol kills the baby or their just stupid

I agree with you! Very irresponsible of her to do!
Selfish people are just that, hopefully she will learn, but at her baby's expense....shameful!
Someday peeps will realize that alcohol is a DRUG.

when ur girlfriend is pregnant, please drink for her what she would have otherwise consumed

We can't say if she's purposely doing it. but the problem is if she is and they dont succeed, then the effects will be worse.
