hasn't it been cancelled due to funding?!?
I thought it was meant to come out years and years ago but it all went wrong...

It hasn't been funded. Thankfully. If you are a fan of the TV show you must be mad to actually want to see it done as a film.
Hollywood would own it. Too many good special effects, and where are they going to do the story from. You can't tell me that you want them to continue where series 8 left off. It was terrible.

it keeps getting funded and losing its funding again. certainly Craig Charles' recent actions haven't helped matters but also the fact that Hitchhikers wasn't the gloabal success they'd hoped so funding was dropped again. Hopefully it will come to fruition at some point but its not looking likely in the near future to be honest. :(

the movie script has been written since the sieres finished but when ever it gets done is another question since certain members of the red dwarf cast wont do the movie plus supposebly no one will fund it

According to the site listed below, it had a tentative release date of 2005....but no date currently confirmed.

A script has been written but as yet no filming ... this is because they are unsure as to whether or not it wud be a worthy investment.... will enough ppl want to go and see it !
