Quotas will help. But they shall not be at the cost of other meritorious students.
There are quotas for some section of society and the qualifying marks are lower for them. Here the quality suffers. But the argument is - If one can consider lower marks management quota seats with huge donation, why the discussion on quality?
Hence, ideally, all seats sahll be on merit based. No reservation based on caste.
My suggestion was to have separate schools and colleges run by Government exclusively fot SC/ST & OBC. Have world class institutions exclusively for them.
Do not dilute IITs, NITs, IIMs with reservations. Let them run on pure merit. Do not force pvt educational institutions to provide for reservations.
Start an IIT and an IIM exclusively for the reserved candidates. probably the staff also be recruited from SC/ST & OBC.
If the Governement is so convinced why not reserve the same percentage in Politics ? Let the Prime Minsitership and Preseident post be occupied by the reserved categories.
Say, every alternate President or PM shall belong to the reserved community ( as they are moret han 50%).
Similarly Ministerial berths - 55% shall go to SC/ST & OBC. And what about armed forces?
If you force pvt companies to take in reserved categories, probably they will be taken and be kept on bench in software companies?
And Governments like karnataka have started closing down the schools that teach English. This is a 'great' step to bring 'equality' - all will be educationally backward :-(

OBC Quota is a "LEADER's FUNDA" to make his "VOTE - BANK" for just Political Issue only. Its did't help & never will be helpful untill unless OBC's has to come forward with positive & united view (no one help you, one & only you can be helpful for yourself), get the self stand, don't be depandent on other or any QUOTAS,,,,,,,,,,,, Yes! you will find yourself on right path & deffinetly you will never need any QUOTA............ because everyone are full of quota in his/her self...............

No not yet all, it is a political trend only. Now in all communities, more income group and higher position personnel are there, and they want to enjoy themselves only. Actual beneficiar is not reached the fruits. The higher persons, and community leaders are shown them to the outsiders, and they enjoying the benefits.
All the reservations are made only basing on the economic position of the person only. Providing free boarding, and education etc to all poor persons.
