The only thing that will effect the point spread is: 1. a player gets hurt that is detramental to the team, 2. whos at home, 3. If people start betting on the game they will change the pont spread so not everyone wins.

none. what should affect the spread however, is the fact that New Orleans is playing a true home game for the first time since the devastation from Katrina.
N.O. is getting 3.5 points right now from ATL - who is clearly a superior team (I know both teams are 2-0, but CLE and GB aren't real opponents). So anyone wagering knows that Falcons should cover that easily, right?
Wrong. The NFL will ensure that the Saints win outright. Watch the horrible officiating take over from the outset. Won't it be a GREAT story if New Orleans wins this first home game, and goes to 3-0 to lead the division. Amazing,
Total fix job coming. Do not bet Atlanta this week.

I hope you're joking about al Jazeera. Those F'ing bastards should never be allowed on American soil. They'd just be surveying potential weaknesses in security.
But, um, it shouldn't have any effect on the spread. That deals solely with the teams; players, past game performance, etc.

East coast fans still generally like to watch west coast games. Having a second monday night game makes us have to stay up late to watch it. I say it's time for Tuesday Night Football.
