I went to one today for an aunt who did not believe in God and it was briefer than brief. Seven people, not a mention of God, all up, about 20 minutes. Strange but also good because it followed her wishes to the letter. Any of you had good or bad experiences of funerals?

That doesnt sound like a strange funeral, It sounds like a funeral that didnt mention God. Many many many people arent religious. Most weddings arent even held in churches anymore. Its all about what that person wants. Who are we to judge?!

Unfortunately I have been to a lot of funerals! The worst one the preacher talked about road kill ! Another one I had to attend the whole body was shown [ not customary in my part of the country.] At one just as we walked into the viewing room for my at that time husbands grandmother. His sister [who was extremely large] had on a bright yellow and white striped shirt wide stripes! He whispered in my ear "Look Camp-land had a sale!" I started giggling and could not stop. His family hated me from then on. So I don't go to funerals any more. I just might skip my own!
