I would have to say no, diagreeing with someones political policy is different to disagreeing with their religion.
If I am against the political policy of an African country does that automatically make me a racist?

No is isn't, but then that question has already be answered a hundered times over now.
I have no issue with the jewish people however I don't think the state of Israel has any right to exist. It was imposed upon the Palestinians in about 1948 and it was the wrong thing to do. It would be the same as the celtic people marching back into England and saying that because this was their land 2000 years ago we have a right to it now, then putting all the people descended from the Saxons, Vikings and Normans into a small section of the south east. If this wouldn't be bad enough every so often they'd make this section smaller by allowing settlements of celts to encrouch onto the land.
So I do have some sympathy for the palestinians, however when so much of the trouble is started by islamic groups like Hamas and Hisbolah you do have to wonder why at least some of their anger is directed towards them. After all the recent israeli invasion of the lebanon was caused by Hisbolah firing rockets into Israel. It all seams crazy to me especially when Israel had moved some of the jewish settlers out and things were moving in a positive direction for Palestine. To then go and elect Hamas. then kidnap an Israeli soldier was just stupid. I suspect that the people on the Islamic side doing the fightling simply don't like peace and prefer a state of war.
To be quite honest I don't have much sympathy for any of them. After all how can a people that send suicide bombers into crowed public areas claim any kind of moral high ground. They are nothing but common murderers. And how can Israel, a country formed by the displacement of the indigenous people into what amouts to a giant internment camp, claim to be any better than the people it is fighting. They Shouldn't be there in the first place.

Anti- Israeli doesn't mean anti semitic at all. What the government out there is responsible for at times is outrageous. Remember the Lebanese refugee camp massacre in the early 80's? If Iraq or Iran or Syria had done that the Yanks would have been in like a shot. But the world condemns it and then forgets it. I don't dislike Jews but it seems the Israeli government can do what it likes without fear of sanctions or reaction from the west.

I am anti Israel but I am not anti Israelis.
I am anti Blair and Bush but I am not anti their/our peoples.
Other than those selected to give a balanced view I doubt there weren't many Jews who were not horrified at the destruction caused by their military.
The problem with Israel is pretty much the same as ours.
Don't forget the Jewish fanatics that hung squaddies or blew up hotels with Brits in.
Really they were the first terrorists in that area, no one else.
Unfair? of course but who cares about any civilian's life?

There was an interesting programme on channel 4 (UK) the other day about the end of times.... essencially it exposed US policy towards the middle east and israel as being based on the end of times ministries who hold a big huge section of the vote in the US. what these ministries want is for israel to exist and be supported, because the believe absolutely that it's existance will bring about the 2nd coming. infact what they want is to bring about the second coming sooner rather than later, so promote war and antagonism in the region!!!! i swear to god.... these guys are trying to make a ww3 happen, and they have the white house in their pockets.... how scarey is that?!!! so is being anti israel, being anti semetic... well from their point of view, yes, as they believe that israel has a divine right to the land as the chosen people of god, and anyone who is not supporting that agenda is anti jew and therefore anti semetic and should die and go to hell.
whatever the situation, this programe basically said, be afraid, VERY afraid. these guys are going to make it happen and they don't care about consiquences!!!!
personally i think it is a bunch of depressed people, who can't handle life and are trying to destroy it for every one else. unfortunately with such a big section of the vote...the whitehouse listens.

not necessarily no. But it depends if you ,mean anti everything the Israelis do or anti some of their more aggresive decisions.
I for example am often against their retaliatory strikes and dislike their setlements in the west bank but I do thinbk that the state of Israel has the right to exist and that if attacked by it's neighbours has the right to defend itself aggresively, just so long as they don't go over the top (which they ususally seem to do lately).

I hail from India where Israelis had lived peacefully for centuries integrating with us Indians. In fact, one of my school seniors Ms.Jerusha Reuben had stood first-class first in Marathi language in 1940. In fact, when they left after establisment of Isfrael their neighbourers actually cried pitifully asked them not to leave. Their Synagogues, wherever they are here, are well presercved even if there no Jew to look after them.In fact, we in India would gladly welcome them back should they have to leave
Israel at any time in future. We have still kept their places for them in our hearts made to tick again by an eminent Jew-Sir David Sasoon.
After even with all this good will towards them we never liked their forceful entry in middle east taking umbrage under some scriptural texts. They supplanted the Arabs who had been staying there for generatiions Would Palestine have been less of an Israel if they had integrated themselves with the existing population. In any case they would have dominated the area with their means but the Palestines would have had no complaint because in the process they would have been transformed beyong recognition.Even without such forceed entry the condition of the other Arab countries is to say the last pat hetic. Israel rfeally lost a golden chance of fulfilling the promise of their god and yet obtained the goodwill of the local people. There was a proposal inthe post-war II era to establish Israel towards the moutn of Nile in Africa. Plans had been drawn up and the local chieftains also given given their consent to the proposal. The opening up of this area of Africa would haved been beneficial to all concerned. The shifting of the site to Palestine is a stragegy of USA to keep their watchdog on the oil resources. But as the Arabs go up the sword of Damoclles would always hang on the head ofIsrael and who knows there would be a Second Exodus. An enterprising, working people will again be on high seas on rudderless ships.
Let them sail towards India. We have still kept their places for them.

No... being Anti Israeli is not being anti-Jewish... I like many others is Anti-Israeli... I dont believe that a jewish state has any business being created in the midst of the Arab world....
That doesn't mean I think all Jewish people deserve to be gassed.
It's hard to summon up any sympathy for the Israelis.

no.....
"anti israeli" isnt "anti semitic", the semitic people include both Jews and Arabs, so strictly speaking to be "anti semitic" you have to extend intolerance and hatred to include both groups
as Israel is synominous of the jewish state you might be (justifiably) called "anti Jewish", or possibly "anti Zionist".
if you aren't intolerant and prejudiced against a specific group for no specific reason then it would be silly for soemone to label you as "anti whatever....". its often a convenient label by used by ignorant people to shout down people whoose views they oppose.
its perfectly reasonable to hold views which object to a specific policy or group of actions. if your views are formed BECAUSE they are acts by Israel then thats a diferent matter.
