I have flown a number of jet aircraft having served 14 years in the RAF from Hawk to Tornado. Im guessing the jet powered car Mr Hammond was driving felt pretty much the same as a Jet aircraft. If he was travelling in a straight line then the G forces wouldnt be that bad and i doubt he would have turned the car as at that speed it would have flipped. Having said that, it was that which probably made the car crash.
More to the point... whats the idea of a Jet powered car? not as if you can take it out on the public road. Like others have said he must have known there was a huge risk involved. Not something he will be doing again i think. Hope he makes a full recovery and sticks to fossil fueled cars in the future.

Fighter pilots usualy take on these vehicles because they are used to fighting the G's and have the reflexes to handle it.
He may be a good driver (I said MAY be), but a fighter pilot?
It was a crazy stunt to attempt.
I wish RH all the best.

I hope he gets well, and I hope it's soon. He lives life in the fast lane, but sometimes things go wrong.
I just pray that we haven't got another Steve Irwin on our hands.
My thoughts are with his lovely family.

It's easy to say that he's a bit of a pillock, but he must have known the risks before he undertook the stunt. I do hope he recovers.
