Hey...i typed “am lonely” and here I am....
Am from India and came to NYC 2 years ago, am 23 now. I was 21 when i came here. I was just out of college at 21 and came to US from India where i had lots of friends. All my relatives and family is in india!!
Although i meet new people here, i am not able to find any one nice guy/girl that can be my best friend... i had never felt that my social abilities were flawed until i came here to a totally foriegn country....
i do know some people from work here...but they r only friends...not some girls like the girls in the TV series “Sex and the city” I wish I had a group of friends here...i do have a husband....he is totally busy though...
Any down toearth simple people who want to be friends with me here?

there's your problem you moved to NY, you should have move to OZ. Everyone here is nice and you would have friends in no time

I'm sorry you are lonely. I get lonely too, but I live on the other side of the country almost. I have grown kids and a supportive husband so I'm not always lonely, but have pretty much cut myself off from all but family. You might try looking into what kinds of groups with interests there are in your area. If you have time you could volunteer and meet people. I've done that. Maybe there is someone at your work or in your neighborhood who would make a good friend if you just try a little harder. I hope you find friends soon. It must be hard to be so far away from home. I'm sorry that i don't live anymore in USA, because you could be a great friend
I'm sure you will find some nice people in NY to be your best friend
maybe you should be more open to everybody, don't be shy and too reserved
because you're far away from you family you made like a protective shell around you and people can feel it.
if you want i can be your friend through A/A yahoo and go on my 360!

I am from England cindyjoe,but from what i know about america,you should have absolutely no problems finding friends there,especially NYC,my goodness-its the big apple...if you are not able to find a friend,or friends there,you are not going to find a friend anywhere!!

If you have husband then you should be talking to him. Guy's here like me wouldn't mind being your friend for sex but that's about it.
