lyrics as I remember them: I was just a kid when Buddy Holly died, so I can remember the way my old man cried, he played his records all night long, dancing with the mob (???not sure on that part), was his favorite song, mama's going crazy over twist and shout, I couldn't understand what it was all about. I said aren't you little old to be acting this way, I could still hear my daddy say, Rock still rolls me, rock still rolls me, etc,etc..... I tried searching lyrics, including "rock still rolls me", but didn't find anything concrete.... Who's the lyrical genius here? Where can I find this song?

Squeeze Box is The Who, but I don't think it's the one.

Here's the Lyrics:

Squeeze Box,

Mama's got a squeeze box
She wears on her chest
And when Daddy comes home
He never gets no rest

'Cause she's playing all night
And the music's all right
Mama's got a squeeze box
Daddy never sleeps at night

Well the kids don't eat
And the dog can't sleep
There's no escape from the music
In the whole damn street

'Cause she's playing all night
And the music's all right
Mama's got a squeeze box
Daddy never sleeps at night

She goes in and out and in and out and in and out and in and out

She's playing all night
And the music's all tight
Mama's got a squeeze box
Daddy never sleeps at night

She goes, squeeze me, come on and squeeze me
Come on and tease me like you do
I'm so in love with you
Mama's got a squeeze box
Daddy never sleeps at night

She goes in and out and in and out and in and out and in and out

'Cause she's playing all night
And the music's all right
Mama's got a squeeze box
Daddy never sleeps at night

SORRY noazguy hope you do find the right one

My first thought was American Pie, but I'm pretty sure that's not it either. And it's definitely not the Rolling Stones. I am thinking of lyrics that say "mama's got a squeezebox and she plays it all night long" that is not word for word, the song is right there on the tip of my memory, the Who perhaps? I need to know the answer to this one also.

Ain't American Pie & sure ain't Peggy Sue because why would Buddy Holly be writing about his own death? Me & my friend are searching...

Update: Me & my friend & her other friends can't figure out the song... Although we have narrowed it down to 3 Artist...

James Taylor
Bob Seager
Paul Simon

We've looked all over the web & no help... With it being 3:30am in the moring... We're tired & going to bed in shameful defeat... G'night....

I think the name of the song is Peggy Sue. Rolling Stones may sing it.
