I really like my PowerBook G4. I bought it over a year and a half ago and I have never had any problems with the operating system or with viruses. I am not using any special anti-virus software.
It's a very elegant and stable system and since I have Microsoft Office on it, along with specialized programs like TurboCAD 3D, it does everything I need in my laptop.
I am also impressed with the iChat video feature (I have a broadband connection).

well, for aesthetics and great usage and nifty features, get an apple... if you haven't used the Mac operating system, try it out and you'll fall in love with it!
but otherwise, reliable brands are Dell and Acer... for business, i guess most people turn to IBM's... but just make sure the specs are good because the brand usually doesn't matter... Acer is cheaper but i reckon is just as good as an IBM or a Toshiba with the same specs...
cool...

I got a Toshiba A105-S2131. It's given me no problems at all. The only thing i don't like about it, is the Touch Pad Mouse. But, you can get a regular mouse to hook up on it.
