Like in that movie The Sixth Sense when a ghost was around you could see the kids breath, and in those shows on TV where they investigate a haunted house with scientific equipment a sudden drop in temperature means there's a ghost, right?

It's just that I've seen references of cold in relation to ghosts. I'm thinking in winter trees are dormant, there's no bugs flying around, like cold and death are somehow linked mythologically. Because a ghost is dead. The dwarf planet formerly called Pluto is cold and named after the god of the underworld. You see where I'm going?

It doesn't always get cold. It actually depends on the nature of the force that you are dealing with. There are times when there will be an extra heat.
There is a chill for familiar forces which will be people who have not yet crossed over to the underworld.
There is a heat when you are dealing with forces that are summoned to come to our realm, depending on the dimension from which they came.
Then there are times when forces do make and appearance and we have no idea that they are here cause they did not change the climate for their comforts.
Yes that is why the climate changes, so they can feel comfortable.

When dealing with ghosts don't look for any rules or absolutes. There are circumstances that seem to create a more ghostly atmosphere, but there are no guarantees on predicting when and where a ghost will appear. A ghost may appear once in a hundred years or once every Tuesday. It could haunt a house or dwell in a small spot in an open field.
Even with the perfect conditions for a ghost it doesn't mean that one will ever show up. In fact, even the ghost's appearance doesn't seem to follow any special pattern. Sometimes a ghost is nothing more than a sharp chill felt on your body. In other cases the ghosts cannot be distinguished from a living person. Ghosts can also be in the forms of animals, headless bodies or even as simple as a single ghostly hand carrying a book down a dark hallway.
Ghosts have been known to interact with the living or just make acknowledgment with a quick glance or eye contact. In other accounts the ghost seems unaware of the presence of living people and appears to be acting out some part of their own life.
not always, no...just sometimes.

Yes. And often your scalp muscles feel like they are contracting painfully (usually on the back of your head). Sometimes you get chills without any reason. Have you ever thought you saw a white shadow pass by quickly during broad daylight? You look again, there is nothing there? Have you ever been in a dark room that is very quiet? You start listening, and you can hear the silence (in the form of a gaussian noise)... and suddenly, there is absolute quiet... the quiet noise is not there anymore. And you feel worried: why is suddenly the quiet SO DEEP? Why is the dark suddenly so heavy, so opaque? The feeling of dropping temperature is just a feeling- the temperature that drops is not that of the environment around you; it is that of YOUR OWN BODY...

Most ghosts remain undetected. The room only goes cold when the ghost is trying to take a visible form or interact in someother way.
The theory is that they are borrowing heat energy to convert to something they can use to either appear to you or trying to talk or knock a lamp off a table.
So if its just grandma sitting back and watching you crank one out (again) you probably wont feel cold. but you might feel a little guilty

if a ghost, not a spirit, is present, then there will be adrop in temperature, even if it is so slight that you cannot feel it. as far as warm feelings go, that tends to be the spirits. also, something to watchout for is if you see something dark run across the floor out of the corner of your eye. and yes, winter is considered to be the "dead" months, because when spring arrives it is time for things to be reborn.

No. Some people even talk about ghosts sometimes making 'warm spots', but it's very much more common to have cold spots, or no temperature change at all.

YES they even draw electricity. If you sense a ghost tell them to go to the light. the Other Side is waiting for them, whatever they did will be foregiven. Ghosts are earthbound, Spirits are not they can bi-locate. Spirits usually are to bring a message or just love.

Cold spots in haunted places have something to do with the opening of an interdimensional doorway or vortex. So if a spirit is present ,that doorway would have to be opened, temporarily to let them through.Maybe that's the coldness felt.
