for infections caused by a cut or scrape? I know an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, but a bit too late for that. Is there an all natural remedy, herbal or otherwise?

In addition to the great advice above, I might add that the tea tree can also be used in conjunction with the calendula balm. And I also agree that Arnica is a great remedy for any type of physical trauma. Colloidal silver is also beneficial at attacking infections.
Another "oldie but goodie" is to take the skin from the inside of an egg shell and place it over the infected areas. Use it before bedtime; there is no need to cover it. The infection will be drawn to the surface.

Tea Tree Oil is a potent antimicrobial. If it is too irritating straight up, dilute it 1:1 or 1:2 with olive oil. It works really well on superficial cuts and scrapes, but it stings.
Hydrogen peroxide works well to clean and disinfect minor wounds of this type.

oil of oregeno about $29.00 a bottle it's taken intermnally. If you have infection it may be best to see a doctor if it's bad.

How about soap and water? liquid soap will dissolve the cell walls of bacteria so they die. There's just nothing better out there. Hydrogen peroxide (the stuff in the brown bottle) will make the area bleed so the germs get flushed out if they've gone in deep.

silver. it has no negative side effects, it can be put on the wound in a natural mineral liquid form (also for internal).
