All joints have ligaments, tendons, and muscles. And they allow some sort of movement (up down, side to side, etc).

So of the common types of joinst are ball-in-socket (shoulder, thigh), hinge (knee, elbow), rotating joint (rotating you wrist), and sliding joint (the palm of your hand).
