Any marriage is filled with sacrifice, compromise is just another word for it, but to really answer your question, since these are things I don't like.........#1. I became head of my household on my wedding day because my husband didn't want the job, neither did I, but 27 years later I still have it. #2. It was left to me to explain the birds and bees to our kids because my husband couldn't even say the words without stuttering. #3. I've lived in 5 states and given up 4 homes because my husband is a restless soul. (At least THIS time I've convinced him to pay the house off, sell it for a nice profit to buy another house before moving again) #4. Since my eyes sight and health have began to decline, I've had to give up my freedom and become a home body who sits at home reading, writing or working on the computer, ALONE while he works 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. #5. Since my husband has a chronic and painful joint and muscle illness, my sex-life has become nonexistent! (We are still both under the age of 50) However, in 27 years the man has bought me everything I could ever want, never once even tried to hit me, has never cheated on me, does NOT tell me what I can and can not do and pampers/spoils me almost to the point of distraction to make up for what he sees as his shortcomings. All in all, he is a good man and while he sometimes makes me nuts, (LOL) I adore him.

Marriage is about respect and agreements not sacrifice. But for me personally I have given up living near my family

If you are planning to get married make sure you and your fiance talk about everything such as location, children, finances (seperate accounts/joint/who will pay the bills) family, religion. This stuff is a major major part of a marriage and it can be a big problem if not discussed before the rings.

The sacrifice I gave up was my independence. I let my husband rule pretty much everything in my life while married until I went back to work.
