it depends..some may and some may not..to be truthfully i must say that i do not agree with your statement..being good businessmen should not make them horrible family man..wife must know that husband has to work to provide them with money and all other necessity that she wish..
if you have problems..then i think you should talk to your husband..try to get yourself some quality time together..where you could spend time and flourish relationship for long lasting..
any good men knows that work does can never be compared to the imprtance of his family..family will come first..his family must also knows what exactly he do for a living..some men had to stay away from their home on business purpose and when that happened u cannot simply say your husband is terrible family men..he may be sacrifying his own needs for his own family..
in the ends..i think family must knows how to tolerate each other..there will be give and take situations in life..

It depends. There are good businessmen that are evil and calculating. There are good buisnessmen that do honest business and earn buisness by reputations and honesty.
For your case, it is much more of dedicated buisness owner sacrificing the family.
I will have to say if your husband works long hours because he likes it or if he wants to do it so that he can provide for the family.
If he do it because he wants you to have the best then he is a great family man. If he actually have a retirement plan in mind then he is a family man.
But if he has no retirement plan in mind, then he is just a workaholic.

Disagree....
A man can be a good business man and devote his work hours to work and still be a good family man who devotes his off hours to his family...
Your husband doesn't seem able to prioritize his time to provide financially for his family while still keeping a close relationship by spending time with his family...
That doesn't men other men haven't figured out the balance it takes to accomplish both...

I don't believe that It has to be this away. I think that a man could learn to balance out his business life with his home life and do well at both. Whether it means delegating more work to another associate to free up more family time or whatever it takes, It can be done. I believe it could go both ways. I believe the all business man could be an easier way to travel down, but I believe the man who learns to balance both has greater rewards.

Yes, in some cases..work-a-holics will most likely be bad family men...however it depends on how someone grasps the concept of a "family men"..MEN who WORK for their family are family men..

No, I don't agree! Good business men are great family men, they never let you down and they are big team players. Yes, they work alot and they are very proud of their accomplishments and expect to be respected and appreciated by their family members. You just need to schedule your time with your husband. Sometimes you have tor write things into his daily planner, like "Dinner for two", etc. they actually get a kick out of it. Try it.

you have to have balance in your life... if you are focused on one thing like business it's hard to also be focused on taking care of your family... this is a challenge that everyone faces. it's hard, but not impossible.. you simply have to plan where you spend your time better. i don't agree that good business men make "horrible" family men because many people have learned to find that balance and anyone can learn to do it. you simply have to prioritize your time well and make sure you are spending time with your family... everyone has the same 24 hours in a day, it's how we spend that time that makes the difference. he should learn to delegate tasks to others so he has the leverage he needs to spend his time where it counts. i don't think anyone has ever reached the end of their life and said "Gee, I wish I had spent more time in the office" ... he needs to prioritize his time and tasks better

A good business man is a good business at work and at home. you can't do both if you are not a good business man. A good business man sees both his work and family as the most valuable investment in his life.

You see,it depends on the man himself. I suggest you record the "jimmy neutron" program and watch it with him. Jimmy neutron's father is a business man too, but he is somewhat a good family men. Maybe he could be the role model for your husband.
But one thing you must remember, reality is not that simple....
