The pain you have described here is due to angina where there may be some blockage in the heart valves and the heart is unable to supply the blood since it is not getting enough blood to pump out the same to all part of the body. This is really serious for you and it is advisable that you must visit your family doctor without wasting time to avoid further complication. In the meantime, please cut down on all kinds of food that are rich in calories and avoid aerated cold drinks, total milk products and junk food. Start eating good amount of vegetables, salad and fruit juices. Increase your water intake if drinking less water. Stop smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages. Correct your bowel movements if constipated. Eat two to three raw garlic flakes cut into fine pieces and gulp them with hot water on empty stomach in the morning. Start drinking juice extracted from 500g Bottle Gourd on empty stomach before breakfast daily and this will help to clear the blockage of heart valves, if any. If you have arthritis, then you should drink hot soup instead of juice. Take care and be in good health.

You need to see a doctor.
It could be something like pleurisy, which is an infection of the membrane around your lungs, or it could be something like pneumonia, though you usually have other symptoms with that. The main thing is that it is in the area where you have pain when there are heart problems. You need to see a doctor and have any heart disorders ruled out. It could be something as simple as muscle spasms unrelated to anything, but it could also be all sorts of more serious stuff. Call your doctor.

Your best best is to consult a physician about this as soon as you can. It doesn't necessarily mean there is something wrong with your heart however our bodies have a phenomena called referred to pain. Many illnesses produce symptoms away from where they are located. This is especially true with all major organs of the body . In particular the kidneys and the gallbladder.
Stomach gas can produce chest pain so severe that you'll think you're having a heart attack. So it's all weird and the best policy if your having symptoms that are disturbing or painful to simply just consult with a physician.

If you are a gym rat as I am, you could have pulled a muscle, that can even hurt to breath sometimes, if it came acute, chances are that's what it is. If you have an ongoing pain there - I hate to say what everybody says, but go see a doctor! In the meantime take a muscle relaxer/anti inflammatory/painkiller pill and take it easy!

You need to go to the emergency room NOW! Please, even if it turns out to be nothing more than a pulled muscle, you need to KNOW for sure you are not having heart probs. Most heart attacks cause pain around the left arm, shoulder, and back. Please, just go get it checked out.
Also, take an asprin. If you are having a heart attack, it will help thin the blood to get through constricted muscles.
This is very, very serious!!

are you using anyperspirants? if so stop using it for a few days, the pain should go away... it may just be the sweat pores blocked in the armpit - which is so damn painfull and it will last untill the pores don't work properly again.
but if you have the slightes feeling it may be something more serious go to see your doctor.

The proper person for you to contact would be a neurologist - a medical specialist in the nervous system and the disorders affecting it.
