Because most smart people can't stand to be out in the world with so many morons.

My IQ is also a 127. I am not an introvert or an extrovert. I enjoy going out with decent size groups of friends(5 or 6), but when the groups get too big, I don't enjoy it. I think this is a lot of the reason why I was distant in my fraternity years with my "bros."
I believe there is a negative correlation because high IQ people have a tendency towards learning. Part of learning is spending time with books and what not. The problem with psychology is that you can never conclude anything with your theories because something as random as high IQ people eat more brocolli and brocolli makes people introverted could happen. I think it is safe to make an assumption the the correlation is strong with very little possible alternatives.

Think about this, if you're in class with bunches of mentally challenged people. Would you really be extroverted around them?
The reason many high IQ people are introverted because most intelligent people get bored with average intelligent people easily. Intelligent people like to have a intelligent consveration and debate, so if they try to talk about certain thing to average people, average people wouldn't understand a word. For example most lower level average people thought evolution mean something become outdated. Such as if frog evolved from fish, fish shouldn't still exist anymore because they're not as advance as frog. Now imagine intelligent educated people trying to have a consveration about how evolution could happen with those lower average people. Do you really think it would go smoothly? No it won't. So in end intelligent people basically doesn't get much out of consveration or being extroverted. So what's the point in trying to social with them? That's why they become introverted.

Why, you ask?
Because the entire SYSTEM of the world is made by and for the POWER that thrives on idiocy, ignorance and popularity.
‘Go out; party with us; talk like us; talk more; talk louder; talk less sense; do more; understand less; ask fewer questions. Be assimilated - or fade, or die fighting us’, says the SYSTEM.
I’m not slamming extroverts – just the social SYSTEM!
There are a few factors that can help young children develop their full potential, whether they are introverts or extroverts: spatial skills; hand-eye coordination; social creativity.
By the way, I’m a hardcore introvert and I’ve never taken an IQ test in my life!

According to some psychologists, a lot of intelligent people display antisocial characteristics. I kinda agree with this. I'm an introvert. I know I hold myself back, because people tend to think I'm a 'know-it-all'. That affects my thinking, because when I know something and other people are just throwing out answers, I'll bite my tongue. It's much easier to talk to people who don't know me..or my patients- but that's a different situation.

Personally, I feel that intelligence is much like a form of autism. The more intelligent in many areas a person is, the less intelligent in other areas they seem to be. For example an "idiot savant" that can memorize everything they are ever told will lack the ability to do a simple task such as speak. I feel that a truely intelligent person has an ability to learn a number of skills at an above average level. This includes social interaction. Social interaction is most certainly a skill that is acquired through practice and a large amount of understanding. Anyway, what good is genius, if you're not smart enough to get anyone to like you in between time.

If most people are extroverted, then why are most people with high I.Q.s introverted?
Obviously the only conclusion to draw is... Most people are stupid.

People with high intelligence prefer their own pursuits rather than socializing. It's as simple as that. We less intelligent people get bored easily and so become more gregarious.

maybe intelligent people don't see much importance or real worth in superficial displays of ego, seeking acceptance and love as a validation of ones self-worth
