Depends on both your qualifications. Degrees from top univeristies in US or England are recognised here and getting a job should be no problem.
You can either get a job before coming over or look for a job after getting here. The working culture here is also very different from US and Europe.
Weather wise we have summer all year round and the humidity is very high.

Hi there,

Singapore is generally a very multi-cultural and meritocratic city. Thus, I am sure that with the required qualifications, you and your wife will have not problems at all making Singapore your new home.

The only problem you might face would be the high humidity levels and the relatively high ambient temperatures. ;)

May be better to go for MNC and global HR firms as some may still provide expatriate packages. But still competitive(what industry isn't? :) ). Advisable to put yourself on online job sites like JobsDB, Jobstreet, Monster - if you cannot get firm job b4 you relocate, at least get some interviews b4 you relocate.

Honestly, it will be wiser to look for a job first before coming here. Once a job is available in according to your preference, then look at all other possibilities of moving here and accomodation. In that way , u will not unduly worry about your immediate needs. Best regards
