I am not going to give you an answer because it could be dangerous for your health if I did. I know some of these drugs are available other than at drugstores. The warnings on the containers also say, not for human consumption and that advice should be heeded, as well as, not transferring medicines from one person to another.

There are three types of antibiotics ,those that fight Gram positive bacteria such as streptococci, staphylococcus ect these would fall in what we call the cillin antibiotics , Penicillin, Ampicillin ect . Gram negative infections such as created by Psudomonas bacteria causing swimmers ear will not be cured or eradicated by cillin antibiotics. They require specific antibiotics such as Cephexein, Erythromycin and tetracycline that target Gram negative bacteria after a bacterial sensitivity study or test has been performed to determine the best choice of antibiotic to take for the specific bacteria involved.
There are also Myco antibiotics as well.

Abcess tooth infections are generally gram positive and generally treated with higher doses 500mg x 4 in 24 hrs in the case of penicillin or V-cillin K . Any one that feels flu-like symptoms could very possibly have also a systemic infection of the body which is very dangerous and can affect the heart and it's valves as well as other organs . Systemic infections can also result in fatality if not treated quickly. IF a persons systemic infection resulted from an abscessed tooth they probably would receive the IV antibiotic ampicilling or penicillin G with intermittent doses of gentimycin. large and prolonged use of the antibiotic gentimycin can result in permanent dizziness for life resulting from inner damage resulting from this antibiotic.

Antibiotics work against bacterial infections.

Since Flu is caused by a virus, antibiotics WILL NOT help.

For toothache you do not take an antibiotic unless there is a infection. Then it depends if the infection is deep down or on the surface (most gum/dental infections are caused by anerobic bacteria) which need Amoxicillin or Clindamycin.

it's a trick question. Tooth problems can be, in some situations, linked to sinus infections due to long roots. I know, I am just now recovering from a root canal gone crazy due to my sinuses...they know now. cephelex is good for sinus infections. Cold and flu...no antibiotics. Colds are caused by a virus. Tooth/sinus infections contain bacteria that antibiotics can kill. Viruses do not respond to antibiotics.

Abcess.....almost any antibiotic. Flu/cold, antibiotics do nothing for these. For these, try lots of liquids, cold meds and a growing number of products containing zinc. Like Cold Eze.

Hope you feel better soon.

Amoxicillin ans clindamyacin* are the best for tooth ache and abscess, clindamyacin being the best taken at 150mg 2, twice a day. Antibiotics are not given for clod or flue as they will not work.

Antibiotics can't help cure a cold or flu.
They only fight bacterial infections, and the flu and cold aren't bacterial infections.

cephelex would be the closest but none of those would work for you. cause you included flu. and flu is a virus.
