I really want to learn to sing. my partner says i have no singing ability but i dont completly agree! Not saying im a great singer or anything but i have decent pitch. Id love to take singing lessons but theyre so very expensive and i will need alot. Can you learn to sing or is it strictly a god given talent. Any tips or advise>?

Singing lessons can help you learn to breathe and use ur diaphragm correctly, but if your really tone deaf then dont waste ur money. Why not record urself in private, singing solo with no music, then ask other people to give u an honest opinion

In our family we have alot of 'singers' and of course genes play into this also. If you can sing the notes and stay on pitch it shouldn't be a problem with practise and voice/singing lessons. Good luck!

Take lessons and try not to think you can sing when you can't. People like that are on the first round of "American Idol" all the time. You don't want to become one of THEM, do you?

You can try lessons, sometimes techniques can work. There's always over dubbing too, look at Paris Hilton :)
