Tim was talking about "runway" models. These are different from fit models (who are the models that test how clothes look before they are sized and sent to stores) or catalog/ ad models, or even lingerie models. Runway models range from a 0-4 usually. 6's are usually just wide in the hips, but still only weigh ... what like 105lbs? if that. Runway couture is high fashion and most of those looks would be horrible on any normal person because they aren't meant to flatter the female body... it is like a costume... which is why they need a stick figure

Well you might be happy to know that in Spain, they are banning underweight models and trying to ban the size 0. Size 6 was once considered the ideal size for a woman, so this is just ridiculous, especially seeing girls that are size 5, trying to be a size 0. It needs to stop now.
I'm not surprised the young girl above thought a size 6 was huge, because that is all the fashion industry teaches young girls today. Now this is changing, hopefully these stupid ideals will stop and regular sizes such as 4,6,and 8 will be considered ideal, including in the modelling industry. HTH : )

Lol I'm a size 0 or 1 (for jeans if they're too short) and that was considered average for runway. Print is different though, a size 6 for print would be considered normal.

The fashion industry is a biased, shallow, ignorant sort of thing...Note the fact that most "models" that are considered "normal" by the fashion industry can't even have a period because they are too undernourished...

That's why the beauty pagents are going out of style. We want real people, not pampered stick figures. We can't even wear their megabuck creations.

usually a plus size means a woman is wider than the usual size. Could it be maybe that guy was saying most of the models were anorexic but the one was a tad wider?
