"For a long time it had seemed that life was about to begin. But there was always some obstacle in the way - some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid - then life would begin.
At last it dawned on me that dwelling on these obstacles was my life. This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness - happiness is the way.
The trick is to count your blessings and to stop waiting until you finish school - go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you have kids - your kids leave home, until you start work - retire, until you get married - divorced, until Friday night, until you get a new car or home - your car or home is paid off, until spring – summer – fall – winter, until you've had a drink - sobered up, until you die - are born again - and decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy!
Happiness is a journey, not a destination."

This is less of a question and more of a diatribe though I do agree with the basis of what you're saying.
On a recent trip to Ireland we travelled around and looked at some little mountain hamlets consisting of no more than a few houses and a shop, miles and miles away from anywhere. Hubby and I lead very busy lives with many complex responsibilities both at work and with aged family. Like so much of the population we are caught up in the hype of daily living,,got to be here...got to go there......we must get one of these.....our lives bombarded on a daily
basis by comercial infiltration of one kind or another. I thought how lovely it would be to retreat into the mountains and live a very simple outdoor life with a few chickens etc. There is nothing wrong in imagining these things even if, to some, they are unattainable.
Our lives are overcomplicated and we don't get enough space.
It sounds like you grew up and accepted your responsibility for being happy instead of transposing it onto the elusive "When I do this, get this, marry etc, everything is going to be great. We all have to snatch what ever bit of happiness and growth from whatever it is that we're doing now as long as it does not hurt or cost anyone else in the process.
It's not the destination but what you see on the way that counts.

I, alongside with many different Christians, rejoice the Sabbath on Sunday. a lot of human beings think of that's Sunday, and an incredible type of think of that's Saturday. in my view i do no longer think of it concerns (WHAT?!). No heavily, we are advised to set on the present time aside and be conscious the Sabbath, i've got self belief that as long as you're placing an afternoon aside it is going to no longer count which you %.. What approximately people who artwork Sat. or solar. because of the fact they have no determination. God make exceptions for issues that had to be achieved, like the guy whose donkey fell in a ditch. i think of that's taking the time to video exhibit it weekly that concerns no longer which day you %..

I will also try to enjoy my day and not wait for better things in the future.
As it happens i am suffering with bronchitis and a massive headache to go with it.

Ah yes, it took me years to figure that out. If you sit around waiting for life to happen, you will be waiting a long long time. To quote the legend of John Lennon.." life is what happens to you when your busy making other plans.."

Thought for the day:

"You are the Gifted one - For you have a day to live!
You are the Blessed one - For you have a person to care for you!
So, be happy with what you are!"

There are a multitude of thoughts, each surrenders to the next.

I have lived as you speak, in both manners.
