should there be a white history month?

I mean there is a black history month, we should make a white history too. How about a women's, gay, mexican history month too. Blacks are nothing more special then we are, so why do they get the special treatment???

To my believe, there should be all the races history month that being the reasonable thing to do these days. Blacks believe we owe them for the slavery times, that's wrong. NO offense but in a way we did them a favor by bringing them here since back in their African territory more likely be still hungry, no education, aetc., etc. I am not prejudiced for I have a mulatto daughter and mulatto grandchild. But the big majority of blacks had become prejudiced against us whites thinking we owe them something...well, we don't! There are plenty of blacks that have the ability to see that if some black people gets different treatment is because their attitudes speaks loudly. Enough is enough ! Whites were slaves Exampling before blacks were., did the whites demanded anything for it? NO ! Many black countries took whites as slaves as well, many more facts are out there proving all these statements. Even blacks had black slaves in US at one point. My point if we have black history month, we should have white, Asian, south American , central American, American Indian (the real Americans) and all the other.
If that becomes too much to handle...then let no one have a history month.

Well, there already are Women and Hispanic history months. Not sure about gays. But that's not the point. Think about your history classes in school, and what gets covered. We have 12 White History Months every year.

i think we should do away with black history month and all special months no one race is suposse to be better than another , but anymore if your not black,gay,female,hispanic etc. you don't get crap if i a white person apply for a job and a black person applies for the same job the black person gets it do to what they call diversity which is legalized discremation against white people

Well if you ever taken a junior high or high school history class then you already know that every month is "History of Western European and North American White Men Month."

White history is too general. Black history (in the US) describes a group of people primarily from the south that had descended from slaves and who originally came from Africa. (In addition it includes other direct and indirect African immigrants - however, these are the minority)
White history would include a large group of different Europeans with very different histories. Italians, Irish, English, etc. all had their distinct history, and only recently have become associated. Spending time dedicated to all their histories would be beneficial. But, do we really need a month for all this?

Somebody in the government who knows how to count should abolish minority favors. White men need food stamps now just as much as blacks, koreans, etc......We are all Americans in these United States. Our senate, and congress reflect many nationalities, and some other countries. It is becoming time to treat white people as our equals. Education should supercede government, science, and religion on the slates. We should all contribute to world elevation, not competition leading to classes that leave societies poor and hungry. We are all human, an outside threat to our beings, would draw the near and far together, regardless of nationality, race, ethnicity, religious affiliation,....etc....... So, we need to build together now like our future depends on the defense and sanctity of our world will prevail. We are our own super power, Earth VS........? Let's get together.

Antmanbee is right -- black history month is for whites and other non-blacks. It's to celebrate diversity and to educate. And no, they aren't looking for "special treatment." They're looking for equal treatment.

But black history month isn't for blacks.
It's for whites.
The white people are supposed to study black history.

But I will bet you would be hard pressed to find black person under the age of 45 or 50 or one that is not a college student that has read the "Autobiography of Malcom X."
Cause it isn't about booty call, killing, or slapping bee eye itches upside the head.

I don't think it is a good idea to have a white history month. It seems to me that in the USA it is white history month for all twelve months. I am white & I share in the advantage of the majority.

Black history month is to celebrate great black people like Martin Luther King; Mrs. Elsa Parks; George Washington Carver & others. These folks made a difference; why not celebrate their lives & achievements?!!

I would have no problem to celebrate women, gays, Mexicans, etc. We are all human & different. Let's celebrate the differences in others and ourselves.

Black history month does not demean "whites". Each group has good reason to be proud & share that pride with the rest of us.

They get special treatment because they whine a lot.

If we make a "White History" month, they'll get all up in our faces about the horrors of slavery 200 years ago that only 1/3 of them had relatives involved in, and then we'll have to cater to them more just so we can get them out of our faces.

Never forget that every black criminal is innocent until a white man is proven guilty of some kind of hate crime.
